When educational leaders decided to create magnet schools, they didn’t just get it wrong, they got it backwards. Under-performing peers at our “neighborhood” school. On a daily basis, I see the same kids who do amazing things when surrounded by their brightest counterparts from other schools slip into every negative stereotype you can imagine, and worse, when surrounded by their Performing as well (or at least trying to) as those students whose test scores or geographic location landed them in much more demanding academic environments. What I see time after time is how my kids rise to the occasion, I take my students to lots of outside events where they are required to interact with students who come from magnet or high-performing suburban schools. But it was a short-term solution that has had long-term negative consequences. Years ago: Smart kids not being challenged? Academically under-prepared kids, most of them ethnic minorities, moving in and test scores going down? It’s completely logical that they chose a path to create Why not do the same with education and magnet schools? The icing on the cake is the provision of Dolby Audio surround sound, available via it’s TV apps. This might be “plan retreat” or “organize family reunion” or “deliver operational review to the board of directors.” Plans contain tasks and buckets, as described below. Plans are just that - your projects, or the objective or central theme around a set of tasks. (Click any image in this story to enlarge it.) Plans in Planner include a series of tasks grouped into “buckets” for stages of a project or any other tracking scheme you like. Here’s a look at a small plan to deliver an in-person workshop, had 2020 not been so, well, 2020: IDG Planner makes it pretty simple to organize a fundamental level of thinking around any multi-step set of actions: plans, tasks, and buckets. This cheat sheet will help you get started in Planner so your team can get right to work. It’s meant for simple task management and is akin to popular collaborative tools like Trello and Asana. Planner is aimed at everyday business users working together in small teams. What about Microsoft Project, the company’s venerable project management application? That’s meant for project management professionals who plan and track complex projects, especially among larger teams that cross departments in a big organization. Microsoft Planner, a relatively new tool available exclusively to Office 365/Microsoft 365 subscribers under most business and education plans, is meant to solve this problem by helping teams plan projects, assign tasks, share information, and collaborate. Teams working on projects together need a central place not only to store documents and files but also to provide a “single version of the truth” when it comes to distributing work through tasks and tracking progress. Tracking who is responsible for what, what deadlines exist, what the objectives of the project are, and all of the attendant supporting documentation and materials can be very difficult - or perhaps just time-consuming. Have you ever worked with several other members of your organization on a single project? You probably have, in which case you know that as soon as more than two or three people get together and start planning things, staying organized is difficult. ![]() With over 200 million users and 70 million active listeners a month, Pandora accounted for 70% of radio listening in the country. After the success of Luca Guadagnino’s film, Palazzo Albergoni hit the real estate market. The famous mansion is still a private property and it is not open for public. The picture was also used on early postcards. The artwork was a gift for Count Griffoni Angelo, the last Griffoni owning the villa between 18. It was Finoli Bassano’s engraving depicting the villa and the garden with the pond. When we returned to his office, Gianluca pointed to the picture on the wall. Three years later Pierre Albergoni became the new owner. The villa remained property of the Stramezzis to 1958. Giuseppe Perletti purchased the villa in 1865 and 12 years later his nephew, Saverio Stramezzi inherited it. When Angela Vimercati Deseverino married the Count of Griffoni Sant’Angelo in 1776, the villa became property of the Griffoni Sant’Angelo family. Through the centuries the mansion suffered numerous modifications, notably in the 18 th century when the villa got its main appearance.
